Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your name, including a middle name if you give one.
• Your date of birth.
• Your address, city, ZIP and county.
• Your mobile number.
• Which language you chose, whether this is a first registration or a change, and whether you agreed to be contacted.
• If you moved: your previous address, and your former name if it changed.

What we never collect

• Your driver's licence number. You write it on the printed form yourself, in pen.
• Any part of your Social Security number. Same — it never reaches us.
• Neither is ever sent to us, stored by us, or seen by us. There is no field for them on this site and no column for them in our records.

Why we hold it

• To fill in the State's application form for you.
• To contact you about voting and your registration, if you agreed to that.
• You gave it to us voluntarily. Nothing required you to use this site.

Where it is kept and who sees it

• In our own records, seen only by the people running this drive. Volunteers at the table do not have access to them.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not trade or rent it.
• We do not share it outside our campaign and volunteer team, except with the messaging service we use to send the texts you agreed to.
• We take reasonable steps to protect it. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise it will never be breached.

How long we keep it

• Through the current election cycle, then we delete it.
• Sooner, if you ask us to.

Your choices

• You can ask what we hold about you.
• You can ask us to correct it.
• You can ask us to delete it. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
• You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP to any text.
• Deleting your record with us does not affect your voter registration. That is held by your county, not by us.

Children

• This site is for people old enough to register, which in Texas means 17 years and 10 months. It is not intended for anyone younger.
